Obituary for Clarence L. Quire

Clarence L. Quire, 87, of Reading, passed away August 24, 2018, at his home; surrounded by his family.

Born May 15, 1931, in Reading, Clarence was the son of the late Leroy C. and Hilda E. (Wolford) Quire. Clarence married his love, Mae I. Van Sickle, in 1952.

Always passionate about his business and work, Clarence ran Acme Roofing with his wife, Mae, for the past 52 years.

Clarence was a gifted writer, reader, and film fan. A YMCA member for 70 years, Clarence enjoyed racquet ball, boxing, jogging, and swimming. He also enjoyed hunting and fishing with his family. Along with his wife and family, Clarence traveled the world. He landed a 200lbs. swordfish in Cabo San Lucas with Mae by his side. Clarence also loved to gamble, and he frequented the horse races.

Clarence was predeceased by two sons, Tyrone K., and Gregory C. Quire.

In addition to his wife, Mae, Clarence is survived by
his son, Darryl K. Quire, husband of Vicky (Uhler), of Shillington;
2 grandsons: Ian K., and Gregory C. Quire, Jr; and
5 granddaughters: Tiffany Quire, Trishia Palmer, wife of Jake; April R. Quire, Brittany M. Roma, wife of Thomas; and Valeri Quire-Macaronis, wife of Michael.

Clarence is also survived by 13 great-grandchildren.

A Religious Service will be held at 11:00 AM on Thursday, August 30th at Sanders Funeral Home & Cremation Services Inc., 1501 North 11th St., Reading. Friends may call from 10:00 AM - 11:00 AM at the funeral home.

Interment will take place at Forest Hills Memorial Park.
