Reedy,Marie T.
Marie T. Reedy, 83, of Reading, passed away peacefully Sunday, July 4th, 2010,at home.
Marie was born in Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania on September 30, 1926, the daughter of the late Col.Bernard and Frances (Subsak) Motkowski.
She lived in Harrisburg,Pa. and Richmond,VA.,before settling in Reading.
She was the wife of John A. Reedy,to whom she was married for 58 years and raised five children.
She was a 1944 graduate of Central Catholic High School and attended Kutztown State College.She was employed by the former Old Reading Brewery for a few years before becomming a dedicated homemaker.
She was a talented seamstress,loved to cook and she was especially proud of putting all five of her children thru college.Marie loved the summer and spending time with her family in Wildwood,NJ.
She was a member of St. Joseph’s Parish for many years and recently a member of Holy Guardian Angels.
Marie is survived by
two daughters, Marie F. Schmehl,wife of John P.Schmehl of Temple and
Ann E. wife of Michael Flynn of Mt. Penn.
three sons Joseph A. Reedy of Temple, John G. husband of Brenda(DeSantis) Reedy of Temple, Thomas C. husband of Linda L.(Clarida) Reedy of Ventnor,NJ.
Marie is also survived by
two brothers, Joe Motkowski of Drummond,OK., Bernard Motkowski of Maryland.
She is also survived by 5 grandchildren,Amanda,Jacqueline,Jenna,Johnathan and John.
She was predeceased by 2 brothers,Lawrence and Chester Motkowski
Services from the Sanders Funeral Home and Cremation Services,Inc.,1501 N. 11th St.,Reading on Thursday at 9:30 AM.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at at Holy Guardian Angels RCC, Laureldale, at 10:00 AM on Thursday, July 8th.
Friends are also invited to call Wednesday 6:00-8:00 PM. at the funeral home.
Interment at Gethsemane Cemetery.
