Rothermel, Karen A.

Karen A. Rothermel, 68, of Phoebe Village in Wernersville, passed away Monday, September 24th, while surrounded by loving family members, at St. Joseph Medical Center.

Karen was born in Reading, on May 4, 1944, a daughter of the late Arline (Watts) and John Bell.

She was the wife of Robert R. Rothermel.

She worked as a administrator for West Berks Mission District, a division of the Lutheran church.

Karen graduated from Reading High School in 1962.

She was a member of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church.

Karen is survived by
a daughter, Pamela, wife of James Anzelewicz, of West Reading;
a son,Brett B., husband of Kelly (Bialek) Rothermel, of Wernersville;

Karen is also survived by
a brother, Brooke Bell, of Navarre, FL.

She is also survived by 4 grandchildren: Joseph, Katie Anzelewicz and Ryliegh, Adyson Rothermel.

Memorial Service will be held at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, 4201 Stoudts Ferry Bridge Rd., Reading, at 10:00 A.M. on Friday, September 28th, with The Rev. Gerald C. Arndt officiating.

Interment at Pleasant View Cemetery, Spring Twp.

  1. Pam, I saw in the paper today that your wonderful mother has passed. My heart goes out to you and your family during this sad time. I remember fondly the time I spent with her during the preparation for your wedding. She was a wonderful, beautiful, and kind woman. I’m terribly sorry for your loss.

  2. So sorry for your loss. I am a church secretary for 36 years and worked with Karen while she was at the WBMD. She was a beautiful person and I still think about her often. As a dedicated worker and good friend she gave so much to all of us. I will keep your family in my prayers.

    From the first time I met Karen, through SDC ,she was kind, friendly and caring. She thought alot about others, even though she was going through so much in her own life. Her laugh was genuine, trying not to take things too seriously. She fought hard through all she had to endure, but I’m sure left great memories you and your family can cherish. You’re in our prayers.   16. Today was on of the hardest days of my life-having to say good bye to someone who has known me all 52 years of my life. she will always be my Aunt Karen. I take solice in knowing she is a better place having a one on one with God and seeing all her friends and family who greeted her upon her arrival.
